actually the web work we've done for beachcroft didn't strictly go the way we usually work. during the rebranding hundreds of items were produced and the thought of completely rebuilding their websites from scratch just seemed a step too far. instead we worked closely with their existing web developers to reskin the two sites they already had. this involved working out what templates they had, deciding their inter-relationship and producing pixel-perfect photoshop files for the back-end teams to slice up and use. this didn't make the project any easier though as we were limited to what we could do within the existing structures, but the end results have moved away from the busy designs they were to very clean, business-like pages. we think there may be a plan to rethink the sites from the floor up soon, so we knew our designs were merely a holding strategy but that doesn't mean we didn't put as much effort in or that we aren't as happy with the result. okay, the sites won't win us a design award, but the clients, prospects and prospective employees who use them should have a much better experience - and that in the end is what is most important.
